Turmeric Golden Porridge



You know, there are certain combinations that are just king, they just fit so good together that when you discover them your pupils dilate and your excitement reaches high!

The first time I tried this golden turmeric porridge was with my girlfriend, she made this beautiful yellowish bowl one winter morning and I fell in love with it!

Try it out, and be sure to add everything you like!



Ingredients (for two persons):

-160 gr Millet soaked overnight

-plant based milk + some water

-3 crushed cardamom pods

-half of a grated lemon zest

- 1 tsp each grated fresh turmeric and ginger

-1 apple diced

-handful of raisins

-2 tsp poppy seeds

-pinch salt

-roasted cashews

-1 blood orange

-fresh mint

-cashew butter


Method:

Soak millet overnight (at least 6 hrs), then drain and rinse well.

Heat some plant based milk and little water to a pot, add the cardamom pods, lemon zest, the fresh grated turmeric and ginger, raisins, the diced apple, the poppy seeds, pinch of salt and finally the millet.

Cook for 8-10 minutes.

Roast some cashews and serve with blood orange, fresh mint and cashew butter.
